Diddy's Attorneys Declare "Victory" Outside of Courthouse: The Media Got it Wrong
Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team gathered on the steps of the Manhattan federal courthouse to address the media following a dramatic conclusion to the music mogul’s highly publicized trial. Combs was acquitted of the most serious charges—sex trafficking and racketeering—but was convicted on two lesser counts related to prostitution. Despite the partial verdict, his request for bail was denied.
Still, Diddy’s attorneys called the outcome a significant win.
“Today’s a great victory. It’s a great victory for Sean Combs, and it’s a great victory for the jury system,” said lead defense attorney Marc Agnifilo. “One thing stands between all of us and a prison, and that is a jury of 12 citizens. The jurors got the situation right — or, certainly, right enough.”
Co-counsel Teny Geragos, daughter of renowned attorney Mark Geragos, also addressed reporters. “Sean Combs has not sexually assaulted anybody. I’ve been saying that for months. The media got it wrong,” she stated emphatically.
Another defense attorney, Brian Steel, took a moment to thank journalists covering the case. “I want to thank you all for being here and writing truthfully,” he said.
While the legal team celebrated the partial acquittal, they made it clear the fight isn’t over.
“The job is not done yet,” said co-counsel Xavier Donaldson.
Agnifilo echoed the sentiment, adding, “We are not nearly done fighting. We’re not going to stop until he walks out of prison a free man to his family.”
