Ye Makes Brief Appearance to Support Diddy During His Federal
Kanye West, who now goes by Ye, made a surprise appearance at Sean "Diddy" Combs’ federal sex trafficking trial on Friday (June 13), showing up in an all-white outfit to support the embattled Bad Boy mogul.
As he entered the courthouse, Ye confirmed his reason for attending with a brief “Yes” when asked by reporters if he was there in support of Diddy. He was seen shaking hands with Christian Combs, Diddy’s son, before stepping in the packed courtroom. According to the Associated Press, Ye remained for about 40 minutes, during which time Diddy’s former assistant Jonathan Perez took the stand.
Upon exiting, Ye declined to speak to the media, quickly getting into a waiting black Mercedes sedan.
Ye has remained outspoken in his support of Diddy amid the ongoing legal proceedings. In a series of tweets posted in February, Ye wrote, “Just for clarity they tyring [sic] to make an example out of Puff. Me and my brother had our issues, but these white people [are] trying to use Puff to scare [Black people]. I’m neither scared nor brave — this just me.”
In the same thread, Ye revealed he was selling shirts featuring Diddy’s iconic Sean John logo and splitting the profits evenly with the music mogul. “My support of Puff is completely selfish,” he added. “I need to find whoever been trying to out Black moguls.”
