New Video Appears to Show New Orleans Jail Escapee Antoine Massey Pleading to Trump
The search for two remaining escapees from the Orleans Justice Center has entered its third week, with investigators now reviewing a video that appears to feature one of the fugitives, Antoine Massey.
Massey, who escaped from the facility on May 16 along with nine other inmates, is seen in a video uploaded to the Instagram account @_007chucky. In the clip, he denies the allegations surrounding his arrest and claims he did not escape, but was “let out” of the facility.
“I’m one of the ones that was let out of Orleans Parish jail where they said I escaped, right?” Massey says in the video.
He goes on to discuss the domestic abuse battery charge that initially led to his incarceration, claiming it stemmed from a “jealous ex-girlfriend.” Massey asserts that he has documentation proving the alleged victim was attacked by others—not by him.
In the video, Massey also appeals to high-profile public figures for help, including former President Donald Trump and rappers Lil Wayne and Meek Mill.
Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson responded to the video in a statement:
“If the individual depicted in the video is indeed Antoine Massey, we strongly urge him to come forward and turn himself in to the proper authorities. Cooperating with law enforcement is in his best interest and may help avoid additional charges. It is important that justice is served appropriately and that due process is followed.”
