Zion Williamson Sued for Allegedly Abusing Ex-Girlfriend for Years

NBA star Zion Williamson is facing serious allegations from a former girlfriend, who has filed a lawsuit accusing him of rape and a pattern of "sexual, physical, emotional, and financial" abuse during their relationship.
Filed under the pseudonym "Jane Doe," the lawsuit claims Williamson engaged in a “continuing pattern of abusive, controlling, and threatening behavior” from 2018 to 2023. The woman alleges that Williamson raped her twice in 2020, both incidents reportedly occurring in Beverly Hills.
According to the complaint, the first assault took place after she told Williamson she was tired and wanted to sleep. She claims he responded by telling her she couldn’t go to sleep until they had sex. He then allegedly pinned her down, restrained her hands, and raped her. She further alleges that afterward, he threw her phone and choked her.
The second alleged assault reportedly occurred later that same year, following an argument over her plans to visit a friend in San Diego. In both instances, the woman says Williamson confiscated her phone for extended periods of time.
Additionally, the lawsuit accuses Williamson of choking her “with such force that she reasonably feared for her life and eventually lost consciousness multiple times.”
According to a source who spoke to ESPN, the plaintiff is seeking between $18 million and $50 million in damages.
In response, Williamson’s legal team at Barrasso Usdin Kupperman Freeman & Sarver, LLC issued a statement strongly denying the allegations.
“We take these allegations with the utmost seriousness and unequivocally deny them,” the statement read. “The allegations contained in the complaint are categorically false and reckless. This appears to be an attempt to exploit a professional athlete, driven by a financial motive rather than any legitimate grievance.”
The statement continued, “While these allegations are false, we recognize the seriousness of the claims and welcome the opportunity to prove the truth in court. We are confident that the legal process will expose the truth and fully vindicate Mr. Williamson.”
